| | | | | DERBYSHIRE-BASED Supermoto racing outfit SR Off-Road vow to reach the top 10 in the world after another impressive display on Sunday (22 May)
Rider Sam Warren, of Belper, moved into 12th spot in the world championships after two fine performances in The Czech Republic against big-budget opposition.
In driving rain, Sam, 22, moved up the leader board at Sosnova's Grand Prix racetrack setting a sixth fastest lap time in the S1 open class in the process.
His performance show that Sam and SR's debut on the Supermoto world stage in Belgium earlier this month was no fluke.
"All we need to do is put in consistent performances like this one and we're looking to finish top ten in the world," explained SR Team Manager Mick Spencer.
"Sosnova was very different from Belgium - it was a big tarmac track and it rained constantly - we learnt a lot from the experience and we'll come back stronger," he added.
Spencer explained that Sam suffered in the second race due to a rear wheel brake problem.
Out of the two races, Sam finished ninth and 15th, making him 13th overall on the day. His performance moves him to 12th place in the World Championship despite missing the first race of the season.
Sam with Matt Winstanley and Christian Iddon form the British contingent in the Supermoto World Championship.
